| Mission Statement |
| The Genesis Group Home
is opened on 1st October 2004 to provide a community based living
environment in a warm, friendly-like atmosphere to teenagers
and young adults with disabilities. While providing for the residents'
residential, psychological, social, spiritual and vocational needs,
the mission of the Group Home is to prepare our residents to transition
successfully and independently into the adult world. |
| Goals |
- To provide services in an atmosphere of dignity and respect
as individuals work toward reaching their life goals while living
in the community;
- To provide a safe, healthy, caring and secure home environment.
- To provide training and assistance that will enable the person
to perform well within the community;
- To assist in establishing a network of friends and family connections
that will assist the individual through the transition to adulthood.

| Placement |
- The Director of the Genesis Group Home bases placement on
the final assessment and evaluation taking into consideration
previous school records, psychologists and/or psychiatrists reports
and vocational skills.

| Staff |
- Residents are offered technical assistance and supervision through
a rotating shift of paraprofessional staff.
- Staffing patterns generally consist of 2 staff members to 5
residents
- Home insures adequate staff to meet the needs of each resident,
and draws from all available community resources in the implementation
of program services.

| Supervision |
- Clients receive 24-hour, live-in supervision from group home
Resident Managers. Resident Managers are responsible for daily
program supervision and activities designed to promote individuals'
optimal independence as a community resident.
